Residential fire in Honeymoon Bay

Shortly after 3:00 am on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the Lake Cowichan RCMP responded to a report of residential fire on the 10000 block of Ruskin Road in Honeymoon Bay.
The fire had spread through the house quickly, which was tended to by crews from Honeymoon Bay, Mesachie Lake, and Lake Cowichan Fire Departments.
The residence was significantly damaged
said Constable David Prak, spokesperson for Lake Cowichan RCMP However, we are thankful that the house was empty at the time, and there were no injuries to the fire department members on scene.
The circumstances surrounding the fire remains under investigation.
