Suspects sought in attempted theft

On July 6, 2024, RCMP in Barriere responded to an attempted theft of a boat on Adam’s Lake, near the Adam’s Lake boat launch.
Two men, associated with an older model grey and blue flat-deck truck, with wood panels, attempted to steal a boat.
The owner of the boat intervened, which led to him being dragged several metres, causing serious injuries.
The suspects weren’t able to leave with the boat, and RCMP hope witnesses will come forward,
says Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson. Given the suspect’s vehicle was unique and had been parked at the Adams Lake boat launch on a busy day, we’re hoping someone may have seen it.
Suspect truck description:
- Older model, possible Ford
- grey, blue colour
- Flat-deck
- Wooden panels on each side
