The Block Watch program in Lillooet has turned 3 years old!

Established in November of 2020, the Lillooet Block Watch program (operated under the Block Watch Society of BC) currently has 1 neighbourhood under it's wing.

The Block Watch program encourages a proactive approach to crime prevention and safety. Volunteers learn how to recognize suspicious activity and when to report a crime to police.

Block Watch Society of BC:

"Block Watch is a very successful crime prevention program, designed to keep neighbourhoods safer. When municipalities and police form partnerships with their communities and employ the Block Watch program, it reduces residential crime, provides a stronger sense of safety for everyone and helps build stronger and connected communities (from Block Watch Society of BC's website)".

Lillooet-Lytton RCMP's partnership:

Lillooet-Lytton RCMP provide generalized property crime mapping to Block Watch members on a monthly basis, keeping members informed about local crime reports. The mutual partnership fosters community engagement and encourages formal reporting for any crimes or suspicious activity observed.
