Update: driver deceased following single vehicle collision

Surrey RCMP is updating the public that the driver involved in a single vehicle collision last night has died as a result of his injuries.

On March 23, 2023, at approximately 12:08 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a single vehicle collision in the 13100-block of 72 avenue. The 21-year-old male driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the man died as a result of his injuries. (Media release 2023-03-23)

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken conduct of the investigation. Although it does appear that speed was a contributing factor in the collision, a full and complete investigation is required to determine all circumstances that lead to this fatality.

Investigators have finished processing the scene and all roads have been re-opened.
