Coquitlam RCMP is teaming up with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) on Sunday, June 4, 2023 to educate the public on child passenger safety.

This drive-thru event will be held in the Northern Parking Lot (Lot E) of Town Centre Park in Coquitlam. Attendees will be able to have their car and booster seats checked by certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) educators II which will include Coquitlam RCMP officers and City employees.

Setting up car seats can be stressful, time consuming and intimidating – especially to new parents, said Constable David Bachtel from Coquitlam RCMP who is a certified CPS educator. For child car seats to be effective, they have to be installed correctly. At this event, families can be assured that their child car and booster seats are properly installed.

Event details:

Police are encouraging the public to bring their own car and booster seats to the event, along with their child to ensure that the child is properly seated and secured. Our certified CPS educators will be able to help families choose another appropriate car or booster seat option if needed. This is in addition to aiding with installation and education.
