File # 2023-207

The Lisims-Nass Valley RCMP are looking for a suspect after a robbery Thursday afternoon.

On March 9, 2023, at 3:23 p.m., the Lisims-Nass Valley RCMP received a report of a robbery that had occurred at a residence in Gitlaxt’aamiks (New Aiyansh), B.C. The suspect reportedly forced himself into the home brandishing a handgun. The resident then fled through a window with preliminary information suggesting the suspect may have left the area in a blue Audi vehicle.

While the investigation is in the early stages, there is some indication that this may have been a targeted incident, said Sergeant Louis-Philippe Gendron Fafard of the Lisims-Nass Valley RCMP. There is no information to suggest that there is any ongoing risk to the community.

Residents are asked to report any suspicious activity, and anyone with any information about the robbery is asked to call the Lisims-Nass Valley RCMP at 250-633-2222.
